Mrs. Hoppel of Elwood Succumbs

Mrs. Cora M. Hoppel, wife of Schuyler Hoppel, 1521 South 24th, died at 3:05 o'clock this morning at her home of complications following an illness of several years.

Born July 4, 1876 in Blackford county, she was the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Kirkpatrick (Bliss). She was married to Schuyler Hoppel, Feb. 5, 1892. Six children were born, four of whom are living. She was a member of the Elwood Gospel Tabernacle church and a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans. Also the Auxiliary of the Sons of Union Veterans.

Survivors include the husband, two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Porter, and Mrs. Edith Schimmel of Elwood, two sons, Lamont and George both of Elwood, a sister Mrs. Sarah Lavine of Denver, Colorado, three half-brothers, Harry Barrett of Lansing, Michigan, Robert of Elwood and Frank of Middletown, twenty grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

The body will be removed Thursday to the residence from the Robert L. Jackley funeral home. Friends may call at the residence.

Funeral rites will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. H. V. Lindsay, pastor will officiate. Burial will be made in the Elwood City cemetery.
