DAVID EDGAR CRUM
David Edgar Crum, a prominent resident of this vicinity for many years, died at a hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, Thursday morning, June 14, following an automobile accident on Monday.

D. E. Crum was a son of Edward W. and Cecilia Sabra (Van Patton) Crum and was born on November 13, 1882, in Cropsey. He received his education here and at Grand Prairie Seminary, Onarga.

On May 24, 1905, he was married to Miss Maude Hill.

He assisted his father in the blacksmithing and implement business until the death of his father, continuing the same until nine years ago, when he moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and became a collector for the John Deere Implement company, and was working for them at the time of his accident.

Surviving are his wife, one son Edward; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Wilhite, of Cambrige, Mass.; also his mother, Mrs. E. W. Crum, and brother, Ivan, of Cropsey; One sister, Mrs. Ethel Jackson of Danville; one brother, Ira, of Hammond, Ind., and one sister, Mrs. Madge Worrick, also of Cropsey.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Cropsey Methodist church at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Fletcher DeClark, pastor, officiating.

He was a member of the Methodist church of Cedar Rapids, the Modern Woodmen of America, Royal Neighbors, Masonic Lodge of Sibley, St. Paul Commandery of Fairbury, the Bloomington Consistory and the Peoria Shrine.

The pallbearers were Henry C. Slater, Rufus McCullough, June McCullough, Louis Brucker, Oscar Huppert, Charles Cumpston, Will Elliott and Will Humphrey.

Musical selections were given by the Meeker sisters and the male quartette, C. Ray Ward, Clarence Thoms, Dale Abbey and Harvey Meeker, at the services.
