MUNCIE — Rev. Howard G. Pearson, 92, died peacefully at Westminster Village and has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior.

Rev. Pearson was born on August 17, 1921 in Blackford County. He was the son of Harry C. and Luria (Baker) Pearson and a 1939 graduate of Roll High School. He was a 1951 graduate of Taylor University and continued his service to God, attending Asbury Seminary in Kentucky and the United Methodist Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

On June 13, 1948 he married Relda Needler in Hartford City.

His ministry called him to serve as pastor of the E.U.B. Church in Kingman, Indiana, the Trinity E.U.B. Church in Portland, Indiana and the Swayzee Street United Methodist Church in Marion, Indiana. He retired after 32 years of service, 26 of them in Marion.

Rev. Pearson was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was adored by his family and friends. He was a faithful and involved member of Union Chapel Ministries. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Relda; a son, Tim (Jane) Pearson, of Grafton, Ohio; a daughter, Karen (Darrell) Hofer, of Muncie; a sister, Bernice Tudor, of Zionsville; a grandson, Erik Hofer, of Indianapolis; a step-granddaughter; and three step-great-grandchildren; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Cecil and Bernal.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Union Chapel Ministries, 4622 N. Broadway in Muncie, with Pastor Gregg Parris presiding. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
