Ralph A. Ivins, age 87, of Sylva died Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Sylva. Ralph was born June 18, 1926 in Prospect Plains, New Jersey. He is the son of the late Cyri and the late Agnes (Benson) Ivins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Grover and Billy Ivins, and a sister, Naoma Dawson. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Thelma Ivins; a sister-in-law, Gloria Bowman; a brother-in-law, Ralph Alt; and many kitty cats. He was a World War II Navy Veteran; he loved woodworking, whistling, and singing. He was a very devoted and loving husband, brother, and uncle. He looked like Santa and Christmas time children would come up to him and ask if he was Santa. He and Thelma moved from Spotswood, New Jersey to Sylva, 23 years ago. He worked at Carter Wallace in Cranberry, New Jersey. No services planned at this time.
