Kenneth W. Cobbs 86 of Sebring, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital. Mr. Cobbs was born in Beloit on May 17, 1924 the son of the late Irving J. and Ada Bell (Crossly) Cobbs; he graduated from Goshen High School and was a member of the Damascus Friends Church where he served in many rolls. Ken was a US Air Force veteran; he was a carpenter and worked as the Director of the Physical Plant at Malone College for 24 years. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Steer) Cobbs whom he married on Feb. 15, 1946 of Sebring; two sons, David (Rene) Cobbs of Canton, Dean (Beverlee) Cobbs of Beloit; and a daughter, Carol Cobbs of Alliance; six grandchildren, Cheryl Libb, Jessica Kelly, Theresa Cobbs, Rebecca Cobbs, Jessamyn Yoder and Amelia Cobbs; three great-grandchildren, Adriann Cobbs, Jase Libb and Sydney Libb. He is also survived by a sister, Verla Santee of Beloit. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Cobbs and a sister, Lois June Cobbs. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Pastor John Ryser officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 27, from 6-8 p.m. and the hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Damascus Cemetery.
