Services for Katie Mae Cooper, 77, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at North Star Baptist Church with Pastor Jacob McKenzie, eulogist, and Dr. Charles Faulks officiating.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Whitehouse under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Mrs. Cooper died Oct. 30, 2013, at Heart to Heart Hospice.
She was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Smith County and was a lifelong resident. She attended Stanton High School and was a member of North Star Baptist Church where she was a member of the women's chorus. She was a cook. She loved to play bingo and loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Princella Hawkins; one sister and five brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Cooper; three sons, Leonard Hawkins, Curtis Cooper, Reginald Hawkins; two daughters, Vicki Robinson and LaWanda Cooper-Farmer; three brothers, Edgar Hawkins, Ray Hawkins, Ralph Hawkins; three sisters, Dorothy Hawkins, Barbara Drake, Ruth Starks; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
