He was retired from Weil-Mclain after 30 years of service. He was a member of Greater Bethlehem Temple Church where he served on the Deacon and Usher Boards. Richard loved being around the church and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Lee Twillie Woodard; a son, A. C. Woodard; three brothers, Herman, Lester B., Charley "C.J." Woodard; and two sisters, Mattie Lee Cooley and Willie B. Twillie.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shirley T. Kennedy Crockett Woodard; four sons, Earthee Lee Woodard and wife Viola, Richard Woodard and wife Priscilla, Robert Henry Woodard, all of Erie, Jerry Lee Woodard of Tupelo, Miss; a brother, Deacon Cecil Woodard; and two sisters, Johnnie Ree Campbell and Millie Roberts, all of Erie; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Interment in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
