Born Nov. 3, 1931, at Fisher, Arkansas, to G.M. and Ruth Clemons.
He was an educator for 43 years and retired as the superintendent of South Mississippi County School District.
He was a Navy veteran, a former member of the board of directors for American State Bank, former Wilson city councilman and a member of Wilson First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Renella Clemons; a son, Brad Clemons of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kairi Clemons of Sherwood and Henrietta (B.J.) Chipman of Wilson; six grand-children, Daly, Kallie, Lexy, Coy, Chaney and Zorey Chipman; and a sister, Jeanne Hays of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Damon Clemons.
Services were held at Wilson First Baptist Church. Burial was in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens. Roller funeral home was in charge.
