Edna—William Troy McNeil, 75, of Edna, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000.
He was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Edna, to the late Oscar Edwin and Edna Felts McNeil. He was a retired attorney and a member of the First Methodist Church of Edna. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served on the ship Ticonderoga. He was a member of Lolita VFW and former President of the Edna ISD School Board where he served for 13 years. He was a member of Edna Lions Club for 28 years and Edna Rotary Club for 10 years. He was elected to serve as State Representative in 1952 for Jackson and Matagorda County. He served as County Attorney from 1960 to 1966 and was a member of the Texas Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta and the "T" Association at Texas A & !.
Survivors: wife, Jean Thorp McNeil of Edna; two sons of San Antonio and Edna; four grandsons of San Antonio and Edna.
Preceded in death by: parents: sisters, Marvel McNeil and Dr. Melba McNeil Moore.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p. m. tonight at Slavik Funeral Home chapel.
Memorial services will be 2 p. m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Edna, with the Rev. Russell Minton officiating. Slavik Funeral Home, Edna. (361) 782-2152.
