Obituary: AZLE—Funeral services for Addie Davis, 97, of Azle, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in the Bangs Cemetery under the direction of the Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis died Sunday, May 19, at the Harris Methodist Hospital NW, Azle.

She was born Feb. 13, 1905, in Brown County to Berten T. and Nancy L. Medley Watson. She was a retired LVN. She was a member of Castle Hill Baptist Church in Azle and a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood. She had lived the past seven years in Azle, formerly of Brownwood since 1948. She married Emmitt Mathews in 1924 and he died in 1947. She married Roy L. Davis in Coleman on May 15, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1982.

Survivors include two sons, R.D. and wife, Yvonne Mathews of Brownwood and Berten and wife, Ethel Mathews of Whitney; one daughter, Russie and husband, burdell Pittman of Azle; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ilene Wallace of Coleman and Ila Koch of Brownwood; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, A.L. Mathews and daughter-in-law, Earlene Mathews; her parents; and sister, Emma Bert Estess.
