Ruth E. Beck, 89, formerly of Lexington Avenue, a former clerk, died Friday at the Kent Nursing Home, Warwick.
She was the widow of J. Willard Beck .
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late William L. and Jane (McIntosh) Winslow, she lived in Cranston for 50 years.
Mrs. Beck worked for the Cranston School Department and was assigned to the Hugh B. Bain Jr. High School for 20 years before retiring in 1962.
She was a member of All Saints Memorial Church, Providence, and a past president of the All Saints Chapter.
She was a member of the Cranston Garden Club, the Cranston Library Association, the Hope Circle at Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, and a member of the first class of the Grey Ladies Association in World War II.
She is survived by a son, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
