Dena Rae (Coffey) Hamilton, 80, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and wife of former Lee Way, Countywide, and Sun Newspaper employee, Archie Dale Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in Shawnee.

She was born on June 15, 1933 to Ples and Estella (Goodman) Coffey at the family home in Stratford, Oklahoma and was the 5th of 6 children.

Dena was raised in Pauls Valley and attended school in Stratford and Pauls Valley graduating from Pauls Valley High School.

She married Archie Dale Hamilton on November 18, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Dena worked as a secretary for Deep Rock Oil and Halliburton during her career, but her most rewarding career was being a wife, mother and homemaker for over 50 years.

She was member of the Revive Free Will Baptist Church in Tecumseh. Dena loved crocheting and quilting making her first quilt when her first child was born. She loved hummingbirds, OU Football, Dallas Cowboys, bowling, collecting 400 Santa Claus's, Tattle Tale Cookie Jars, miniatures, wind chimes and going to garage sales. Dena enjoyed camping, Easter picnics, family Thanksgivings and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ples and Estella Coffey; brothers, Kenneth Coffey and Elwin Coffey; sister, Edith Barr; grandson, Jeremy Hamilton; nephews, Flip Coffey, Larry Hillerman; and Sonny Coffey; and niece Brenda Harrod.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57½ years, Archie Dale Hamilton, of the home; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, David and Donna Hamilton, of Tecumseh, Darren Hamilton, of McLoud and Dane and Sheilah Hamilton, of Menomonee Falls, WI; daughter, Denise Givens, of Tecumseh; 11 grandchildren; Brandy Dougan and Randy, Skye Foreman and Leonard; John Givens, Dalton Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, Meghann Hamilton, David W. Williams and Flora, Stephanie Salentine, Ian Salentine, Erin Salentine and James Gilliam and Lorisha; 14 great great-grandchildren, Cody, Cameron, Ty, Joshua, Jacob, Jade, Zane, Deja, Anthony, Alexis, Sarenity, Jaymie, Eli and Emily; brother, Bob and Joan Coffey; sister, Nelda Hillerman and Cecil; brother-in-law, Bill Barr; 3 sisters-in-law, Cleta Coffey, Nancy Coffey and Laverne Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
