Bertha Louise (Boudreau) Mitchell passed away in Laytonsville, Maryland, on May 13, 2016. She was 96 years of age. She was born in Taunton, raised in Taunton and graduated from St. Mary's High School, in Taunton. Mrs. Mitchell lived in Somerville for a few years before moving to Melrose in 1957. Prior to her settling down she worked for the US Government in Washington DC during WWII and the Navy Yard in Boston. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Incarnation Church where she was a founding member. Bertha was the wife of the late Frederick F. Mitchell. Loving mother of James Mitchell & his wife Janice of Melrose and the late Janet Popowitz & her husband Paul of Yarmouth. Sister of Beatrice Kelley. Grandmother Kevin Mitchell & his wife Emily of Arlington, VA and Meghan McCrorey & her late husband Willie of Melrose, and Marie Popowitz. Also survived by several great grandchildren, family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11:00AM. Followed by the interment at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
