He was born May 24, 1921, in Watauga County to the late Harley Blum and Willie Lee Cook Triplett. He was a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church and the owner and operator of Triplett's American Service Station for 51 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dare Triplett, one daughter, two sons, one granddaughter, two brothers, three sisters, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Triplett and one sister, Maude Shore.
Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Lynn Powers and Elliott Hayes officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.
Hampton Funeral service was in charge of the arrangements.
