CULLMAN -- James Norris Goodwin

Funeral services for James Norris Goodwin, 82, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodwin died Tuesday, Oct. 13, at his residence. He was born Nov. 6, 1926, in Morgan County to Hamilton and Texie Suit Goodwin. He was a welder that worked railroad car construction with Pullman Standard. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War and served active duty in the Koren War with four medals and service awards with Company C 1343, engineering battalion APO 301.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Beatrice Goodwin; two sons, Ricky (Karen) Goodwin and Christopher (Renee) Goodwin; two daughters, Anna Goodwin Webb and Martha (Danny) Stidham; a sister, Elnora Goodwin Skinner; a sister-in-law, Ethelyne Goodwin; 10 grandchildren, April (Donny) Hyatt, John Wesley Webb, KaSarah Webb, Meredith (Ryan) Hays, Grayson Goodwin, Ceisha (Gary) Thomas, Andrew Webb, Julie Webb, Erin (Cameron) Sanders and Jameson Goodwin; eight great-grandchildren, John-Thomas W. Johnson, Cheyenne Goodwin Horton, Jordan (Katie) Johnson, Aiden Hays, Austin M. Walker, Jacob I. Johnson, Allison Stidham and Ella Sanders; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
