Ned Arthur Brown age 78 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:40 P.M. Sunday October 27, 2013 at Rest Haven Nursing Home Greenville, Ohio.

Ned was born July 13, 1935 in Verona, Preble County, Ohio and the son of the late Alva and Vera (Heckman) Brown.

Ned is survived by his wife Marian (Crawford) Brown of Greenville; son Craig Brown and daughter in law Cyndy (Albright) Brown of Ann Arbor, MI.; his daughter Faith (Brown) Webster and son in law Tom Webster of Shawano, WI.; four grandchildren Christopher Brown (Emma Houle), Corey (Shannon) Brown, Bethany Webster (Gero Parmentier) and Evan Webster (Lyndsey Waldburger); siblings Joetta (Brown) Unger, Dean Brown and Donzetta Heitfield.

In addition to his patents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Brown

Ned was a lifelong member of the Darke County community. He grew up in Arcanum, Ohio and worked in Greenville, Ohio for 17 ½ years for the Daily Advocate and various financial institutions including 17 ½ years of employment with Greenville National Bank.

He believed in service to the community and was a part of the initial development of the Darke County YMCA expansion and participated in their work for many years. He was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, serving on the board and as Treasurer.

A member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Dayton and an active member for over 50 years, first in the Church of the Brethren and now the First United Methodist Church of Greenville.

Ned loved traveling, taking scenic pictures, reading history about the West and riding his horse Bullwinkle at Rawah Ranch in Colorado to high places especially Middle Mountain.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 10, 2013 in the First United Methodist Church 202 West Fourth Street Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Angela Meeks officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday November 10, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until time of the services in the Church.

In lieu of flowers the family request that Memorial Contributions be given to the Darke County State of the Heart Hospice or your local Habitat for Humanity.
