Deceased Name: ISAAC ROBERTS
Isaac E. Roberts, 94, of Mountain Top, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 15, 2009, at Hospice Community Care of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Plymouth on January 23, 1915, he was a son of the late David Richard and Sarah Jane (Hazlett) Roberts.
Isaac lived in Nanticoke most of his young life, where he was educated in Nanticoke and West Nanticoke schools, and worked in Nanticoke until age 25. He then worked at Penn Tobacco in Wilkes-Barre for 16 years, after which he moved to Bethlehem, where he worked in Western Electric Co. as a machinist for the next 16 years. In 1965, he moved to Mountain Top, where he worked for Comwave until his retirement at age 77. Isaac was an Army veteran of World War II.
Preceding Isaac in death, in addition to his parents, were his first wife, Edna Fraley; son Leroy, his second wife, Pauline Amann, with whom he was married 49 years; his companion of 15 years, Olive Faux; daughter-in-law Sherry Roberts; and grandson Joshua Roberts.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Jankowski and her husband, James, Florida, and Linda Leonard, Mountain Top, with whom he resided with for some time; son Isaac Roberts, Mountain Top; grandchildren Candy, Suzie, Vicki, Katie, Jessie and Jeffrey; great-grandson Christian, and sister Grace Engler.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family as will be the interment. There will be no public viewing.
McCune Funeral Service Inc., 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, is handling the funeral arrangements.
