John Walter Samples, age 82 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 9th at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Daniel Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with Leroy Irons, Roy Cecil, Scott Webster, John Cox, Robert Mayberry, and Lester Blankenship serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8th from 2- 8 p.m. and Wednesday, October 9th from 9 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Samples was born July 12, 1931 in South Pittsburg, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, John William and Grace Lee Hill Samples; and brother Harold Samples. He is survived by his wife, Odell Rodgers Samples; son Mike (Angie) Samples of Gallatin; daughter Robin Brazel of Gallatin; brother Grady (Carolyn) Samples of Old Fort, TN.; sisters, Margaret Jo Mumaw of Hendersonville and Shirley Samples of Gallatin; grandchildren, Dustin Brazel, Dillion Brazel, Kasey Brazel, Kristin Samples, Tyler Samples, Collin Samples, and Parker Samples.
