OBIT - from Christian Guardian
"Mrs. Amy Adams, daughter of Richard and
Polly Edmonds, was born in NY state
July 18, 1796.
She lost her mother at age 15. She married
Jan. 15, 1817 to John Gennings Curtis
who became a local preacher but was left a
widow on Oct. 20, 1827. On Aug. 8, 1833
she married Rev. Ezra Adams (in Grimsby,
Ontario) who was then father of six
children. Mrs. Adams lived to see all 12
of her children and step-children converted.
Five daughters are married to Wesleyan
ministers and a sixth to a local preacher.
Mrs. Adams died Apr. 23, 1864 in Peel.
Predeceased by four of her daughters.
Survived by husband and children; one son
Dr. W.C. Adams of Toronto."
Since we can account for six living
Adams children at the time of her
second marriage to Ezra Adams, as
well as three more with him, one
could conclude that there were three
children from the marriage to her
first husband, Rev. John G. Curtis.
Children of Ezra and Amy:
(1) Electa Ann Adams (Sept. 10, 1834-July 2,
1897) married Rev. James E. Dyer (1829-July
21, 1908) on July 11, 1859. Their children
included Edward L. and James A.
(2) Sarah Rowena Adams (Dec.28, 1835-
Oct.17, 1916) married Rev. Thomas Culbert
on June 20, 1854. Their children included
Electa A., Edgar E. and Jane. Sarah is
buried in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto.
(3) John Gennings Curtis Adams
(Mar.16,1839-May 21, 1922), a dentist,
married Sarah Ann Fawcett (1845-1896).
Both are buried in Mt. Pleasant, Toronto.
They had 9 known children.
