Harriet Odiane "Hattie" Rolfe Bolton Cole was born on November 1, 1873 in Gorham, Maine to David Rolfe and Catherine Eastman Rolfe. She was the youngest of five children: Charles, Mary, Elizabeth, and Martha. On December 18, 1901 she married Walter Bolton in Bangor, Maine. Walter died in 1910, and on June 2, 1913, Harriet married Frank Cole. Harriet and Frank lived in Bangor for several years and then in Bucksport, Maine. Hattie was a trained nurse and was employed at the Eastern Maine Insane Hospital. In 1926, Harriet was the President of the Maine State Nurses' Association.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet R. Cole, who died Tuesday in North Bucksport, were held Thursday afternoon in Mount Hope chapel, the Rev. James W. Macdonald officiating.
Bearers were Cliff Boyden, Ralph Gray, Frank Hoxie, and Carl Danforth. Burial was in the family lot in Mount Hope cemetery.

BUCKSPORT, Sept. 23 - Harriet R. Cole, 67, died this morning in North Bucksport.
Surviving are her husband, Frank,and two sisters, Miss Elizabeth P. Roulf of Gorham and Mrs. Randall Whittier of Kentucky. Mrs. Cole was a member of the Unitarian church.
Funeral services will be at Mount Hope chapel in Bangor, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
