DOROTHY CHRISTEL
Dorothy A. Christel, 81, of 2122 Taft Ave., New Holstein, died Sunday evening, Sept. 28, 1997 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton.
She is the former Dorothy Deskevich, born Dec. 24, 1915 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late George and Helen Bunke Deskevich. On Sept. 28, 1940 she married Lawrence Christel at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1979. She was a former member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Christian Women's Society in Kiel. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Christel of new Holstein; two daughters, Patricia Christel of Sheboygan and Rachel Theel of Two Rivers; three grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Henning, Lorraine (Marvin) Henning and Janet (Ray) Kuehn. She was preceded in death by one brother, Orville "Sonny" Deskevich.
A funeral Mass was held at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys, SDS officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
