Velma Mosley Ward-Adams, having attained the age of 74, passed from this life to be with our Lord on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.
She was born on Feb. 22, 1939, to Lee William Mosley and Samantha Myrtle Keeler-Mosley in Atoka.
She married her first love, Jerry Edmunde Ward on Nov. 27, 1955, and they shared 38 years together, before his passing. She then found love again in 1999, and married Joseph Kenred Adams of Cookson.
Velma enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilting and cooking; with laughter for all to enjoy.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Edmunde Ward; second husband, Joseph Kenred Adams; one son, David William Ward; her parents; one sister, Wanda Jean Mosley; and nine brothers, Jackie Lee, Robert, Stan, Leon, Jerry, Tommy, Arnold Dee, Daniel and Scott Mosley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Cookson United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Cookson-Proctor Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 and 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
