Maureen Ann (McGuane) Brownell, 61, of Sandy Creek, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at home after a battle with Leukemia.
Born September 8, 1952 in Fulton, NY. Daughter of the late Edward & Bridget LaBoda McGuane. She graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton and Oswego State. She received her accounting degree from Jefferson Community College in December of 2011. Maureen retired from teaching high school mathematics at Sandy Creek Central School in June 2012 after 33 years of service. She loved spending time at her camp on Sandy Pond.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Douglas Brownell; her Children, Meagan (Derrick) Koes of Pelham, N.H., Kristen Miller and Fiancé (Craig Tyrrell and Allison Tyrrell) of Oswego and Michael Douglas Brownell of Sandy Creek; her grandchildren, Ryan and Evan Koes of Pelham, NH. She is predeceased by a brother Michael McGuane in 1971.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Thursday at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Pulaski with Rev. John Canorro officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
