Susan Baker was born in Stark County, Ohio, and was a daughter of Levi and Leah Sherrick Baker, who were natives of Pennsylvania and pioneers of Stark County. From Stark County the family moved to Crawford County Ohio, and, in 1862, to Lake Township, Wood County, where the father died in December, 1886. Mr. and Mrs. Baker had 10 children, Matilda, Susan, Mary, Adeline, Elias(died at nine years), Samuel, Elmira(died in 1879), Cora, Henry, and Harvey. On 7 October 1869, Susan married John Weaver in Wood County. They had 10 children also:Charlie, Sidney, Ezra, Cyrus, Eroy, Ida, Laura, Cora, Parm, and Clinton. Cora, Parm, and Clinton all died young.
