Ed was preceded in death by his father, Edgar A. Green Sr.; mother, Mary Louise Green; and brother, Jerry Green.
Ed is survived by his partner and wife of 20 years, Diana; 2 beautiful daughters, Shannon of Davis, CA. and Shawn of Livermore, CA.
Ed was born and raised in Merced, CA. where he attended local schools. He later moved to the Bay area where he attended Golden Gate University and then went on to work for the B.N.S. F Railroad. He later moved to Chicago where he was an executive with B.N.S. F Railroad. He returned to Merced in 1991 where he re-acquainted and later married Diana St. Onge-Green. He worked as a transportation Manager in Merced and Modesto, CA. Ed grew tired of the commute and landed a job with the Merced County Times as Sales Manager until he was diagnosed with cancer.
To many however, Ed, was an avid sailor and loved racing his Catalina sail boat on Thursday nights at Lake Yosemite. He was pass Commodore of Lake Yosemite Sailing Association where he started the Annual Brass Water Pump Regata. In memory of Ed this event will continue to be held each summer. Over the years he taught many friends and family the art and joy of sailing.
A memorial service will be held at the Fish and Game Building at Lake Yosemite on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00am. A potluck will follow after the service.
