Amherst-Mrs. Myrtle M. Deiss, 78, a former resident of Amherst, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rebel Rest Home in Elyria after an illness of six months. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, who died in 1944.
Born in Olivet, Mich., Mrs. Deiss spent most of her life in Amherst until she moved to Elyria ten years ago. She lived with her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Fillo, 315 Cambridge Ave.
Survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Lucille Walker of Akron, and one brother, Wylie Messerole of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the Garland Zilch Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. D.S.T., the Rev. F.E. Eastman, retired minister of Amherst, officiating. Burial will be in Crowhill Cemetery.
