Barb K. Wickenhauser age 69 of Cologne passed away Monday October 28, 2013 at the Auburn Home in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday October 31, 2013 10:30 am St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Cologne with Father Gregory Abbott as Celebrant of the Mass. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 pm and 1 hour prior to the Mass ALL AT THE CHURCH. Vigil Prayer 6:30 pm Wednesday Evening. Interment in the church cemetery.
Barb was born on October 2, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Sicheneder) Peura. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waconia. On November 30, 1963, Barb was united in marriage to Ryland N. Wickenhauser at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waconia by Father Kauer.
Barb was a miracle she fought cancer for over six years. Her biggest joy in life was her family, especially her five grandchildren.
She was very active with St. Bernard's Church and School. She was the choir director at church, and enjoyed helping out at St. Bernard's School for her children and grandchildren.
Barb was a 35 year leader of the Busy Beaver 4-H Club and Carver County Federation. She was a mentor to many children including her children and grandchildren over the years. Barb farmed and enjoyed her heard of Jersey Cattle. She was the secretary of the MN Jersey Association where she was active for many years.
Barb went garage saling every week with her daughter (Teri) and her grandchildren, she was an avid collector of head vases, clocks and carnival chalk ware. She loved her collections.
Barb will be truly missed by her family.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Elizabeth Peura; brothers John and Thomas Peura; father-in-law Norbert Wickenhauser.
Barb is survived by her loving family; husband Ryland; children Toni Wickenhauser of Cologne, Robie (Deanne) Wickenhauser of Plato, Teri Wickenhauser (Fiance Doug Jones) of Cologne, Reid Wickenhauser of Cologne; grandchildren Kahli Wickenhauser, Kassidi Wickenhauser, Paige Wickenhauser, Hailey Wickenhauser, Easton Jones; sisters Mary (Marc) Adams of Coon Rapids, Lisa Peura of Cologne; mother-in-law Reseda "Sadie" Wickenhauser of Waconia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Delvyn and Gloria Wickenhauser of Norwood Young America, Marla and Galen Good of Cologne; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
