Son of Frank and Dorothy (Wyatt) Dolan Michael graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1974. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for twenty years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. On March 15, 1975 he married Kimberly Corrinn Gammons at the base chapel at NAS Whidbey. He lived with his family at numerous duty stations, including Hawaii, California, Tennessee and NAS Whidbey at Oak Harbor. He was choir director of the Bible Baptist Church in Oak Harbor for 24 years.

He was survived by his wife, Kim of Oak Harbor; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Jessica) Sibbert of Evanston, Wyoming, Mrs. Robert (Carrie) Paulson of Camano Island and Mrs. Kenneth (Rebekah) Webster of Wallops Island, Virginia; his parents, Frank and Dorothy Dolan of Marysville; three brothers, Frank Dolan Jr. of Bothell, Richard Dolan of Southern Pines, North Carolina and John Dolan of Solomon, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs. Bart (Mapel) Sherrill of Camano Island.
