Jessie Hamrick, 94, of Webster Springs died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in Beverly.
She was born May 7, 1916, in Richwood a daughter of the late Anthony Lewis Keener and Lona Emily Woods Keener. She was a retail clerk and homemaker, living all her life in Webster County. She attended Laurel Mountain United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Carpenter and Thurmond Hamrick; children, Katie, Wallace, Clayton and Norma Lee; six sisters, and an infant brother.
She is survived by; sons, Walter Carpenter of Miliken, CO, and Warren (Jane) Carpenter of Elkins; daughter, Loraine (Shorty) Simmons of Webster Springs; sister, Margaret (Ben) Pennington of Yulee, FL; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs with the Rev. Sam Nichols officiating. Burial followed in the Adam Miller Cemetery in Webster Springs. Dodd & Reed Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
