KERRVILLE — Charles Roger Highsmith, 53, of Kerrville, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, at his residence.
He was born June 7, 1959, in Hondo, to Lindsey and Vernadine (Casebolt) Highsmith.
On Sept. 1, 1984, he married Judy Charlene Edson, his best friend of 36 years.
Charles was employed at Dealers Electric in the purchasing department. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 19 years.
Charles loved being with his family, fishing and softball. He enjoyed taking his kids to sports as well as watching sports. He coached various youth sports over the last 35 years.
He is survived by wife, Judy children, Candace, Caraline, Skyler and Cody; brothers, Sammie, Jackie, and Kenneth; in-laws, Arlene and John Pike; in-laws, Pat and Judy Edson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Michelle and Gregg and Elaine; Tammy and Bill and Kerri and Michael ; goddaughters, Sydney and Riley; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a community of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Peggy Diane Howell and Sherry Lynn Jackson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Trinity Baptist Church, officiated by Keith Williams, Brad Grimes and Gary Anderson. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jon Mayhall, Cody Thomas, Eric Grimes, Clay Robertson, Robert Zuberbueler and John Prior.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Perkins, Scott Heimann, Ty Botkin and Bobby Thomas.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
