Fred Butler, 88, resident of 106 Briarwood Road, husband of Margaret Tolbert Butler, died October 27, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Saluda, SC, October 30, 1924, he was a son of the late Emanuel L. and Fannie Butler Butler. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired from Greenwood CPW. Mr. Butler was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Marty Eason and husband Robert of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Paula Slade and husband Jason of Dacula, GA and Fredric "Eric" Jackson of Calhoun, GA; four great-granddaughters, Rebecca and Rachel Slade and Marlee and Kinsley Jackson and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Tucker officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Eric Williams, Charles Watkins, Jason Slade and Eric Jackson.
The family is at the home on Briarwood Road and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
