World War II German Army General. SS-Brigadefuehrer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Fritz Witt was a German Waffen-SS Major General in World War II. He was one of the original members of the "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler," Hitler's SS bodyguard unit. He served with distinction on the Eastern and Western Fronts, winning the Knights Cross with Oakleaves. He was killed in Normandy while commanding the 12th SS Panzer Division "Hitler Jugend."
