Final Rites for Ruby Jensen

Ruby Gladys Jensen, daughter of William Haskins, was born on April 6, 1897, on a farm south of Red Cloud, Nebraska, and departed this life on October 7, 1982 at the Webster County Community Hospital in Red Cloud at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 1 day.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pearl. Ruby is survived by her son, Robert, and wife Mary Lou of Inavale; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Wilber, of Apache Junction, Arizona; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, friends, and neighbors.

She grew up on the home place while she attended rural school nearby. Ruby was united in marriage with James P. Jensen on April 16, 1919, in Red Cloud, Nebraska, by the late Judge Ranney and they enjoyed 57 years of married life. One son, Robert James, was born to this union.

She was a member of the Inavale Church of Christ and remained faithful until ill health prevented regular attendance.

She was a good mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruby also found great joy in sewing for friends and relatives, especially after the birth of her grandchildren. She made many lovely and beautiful things on her sewing machine and with her sewing and crochet needles.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 11, 1982, from the Simonson-Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Red Cloud. Interment was in the Red Cloud Cemetery.
