Phillip farmed, became fire chief of White River Volunteer Fire Service in 1990. He was a graduate of Hamilton Heights with the Class of 1966. Also, he was a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in 1968. He was the son of Lowell and Geneva (Curnutt) Achenbach. He married Nancy Louise Blackford. He was survived by his wife, his mother, Geneva, a son, Eddie,a daughter, Darlene Sutton, and five grandchildren. He was a member of Omega Christian Church, local adult farmers group.
