Hannah Hockett was born the 28th of 11th mo 1796, a daughter of Benjamin Hoggatt/Hockett and Charity (Beals). She married 12 Nov 1818 in Clinton Co., OH, William Moon, as his second wife. She died the 30th of 11th mo 1842, and was buried at Newberry according to meeting records. She was the mother of at least thirteen children: Nathan, Jane, Charity, Asenath, Benjamin, Samuel, Esther, Hannah, Phebe, Neri, Mary F ("Polly"), and Seth were from her marriage to William Moon, but she had a child prior to her marriage, William Hockett, that caused her disownment from Lee's Creek Friends Meeting. She returned to membership in the Society of Friends in 1821.
