Earl F. Bartlett, 89, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of William L. and Verda (Farran) Bartlett.
He was born September 22, 1917 at Geuda Springs, Kansas and died on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Hearthstone Assisted Living in Oklahoma City.
Earl graduated from high school at Geuda Springs, Kansas. He and Emma Juanita Stultz were married on October 19, 1936 in Arkansas City, Kansas, where they established their first home.
He and his wife were residents of Perry for 47 years, moving from Arkansas City on August 1, 1959.
Earl was employed as an oil field gauger by Total Pipeline Company for 40 years before retiring in September 1981.
He was a former Perry City Councilman. Earl was a member of the United Methodist Church of Perry, the Masonic Lodge of Arkansas City, the Morrison Dance Club and the Moose Lodge of Stillwater.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 in the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. Pastor Duane Snavely will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery at Perry. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 in the Hearthstone Assisted Living at 14300 N. Portland in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Phil K. Bartlett Memorial in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
In addition to his wife, Juanita, Earl is survived by three sons, Bill S. Bartlett and his wife, Jan, of Houston, Texas, Richard Earl Bartlett and his wife, Glenda, of Orinda, California, and Gary L. Bartlett and his wife, Carolyn, of Medford, Oregon; one daughter, Judy Bartlett, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Janetta Knabe, of Derby, Kansas; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two brothers, Willard Bartlett, of Arkansas City, Kansas and Donald Bartlett and his wife, Pearl, of Chandler, Arizona.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Phil K. Bartlett, and two sisters, Edith Klein and Bonnie Snyder.
The family gratefully acknowledges the entire staff of Hearthstone Living Center and Mercy Hospice of Oklahoma City for their intense love and special care.
