Services for former Gloucester County Freeholder Lester J. (Les) Morgan, Jr., 62, who died Wednesday in Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Woodbury, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Pettit-McBride Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St. Paulsboro, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Paulsboro Masonic Lodge services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. Contributions may be made to the St. John of God School, 532 Delsea Drive, Westville Grove 08093.
Morgan, of Tomlin Road, Gibbstown, was a lifelong resident. He retired four years ago from the DuPont Co. of Gibbstown after working 15 years as director of the DuPont Club and 14 years as a company security guard. He was a former member of the Greenwich Township Board of Education.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the Anthony T. Calista VFW Post 5579 of Gibbstown. He was president of the Salem County Beagle Club and an organizer of the Gibbstown Boat Club. He was also a member of Paulsboro Lodge 262 Free and Accepted Masons and an alumnus of Alabama University.
Surviving are his wife, Alma; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Jones of West Deptford Township, Mrs. Marilyn Doerrmann of Gibbstown and Mrs. Linda Watson of Gibbstown; a son, John Maden of Gibbstown; his mother, Mrs. Emily Morgan of Gibbstown; a brother, Robert Morgan of Wheaton, Ill; and seven grandchildren.
