C C Horton of Lancaster County Dies at Confederate Soldiers; Home
C C Horton, aged 78, died Tuesday night at the Confederate soldiers' home. Mr Horton had been living at the home for the last 10 years. He came of a prominent Lancaster county family and at one time during his life was a successful traveling salesman.
He entered the Confederate army in 1862 with Company C, Hampton Legion, and served gallantly until the close of the war. The body was sent to Kershaw yesterday for burial.
