WOOD, Roberta "Bobbi", age 78, a longtime resident of Lapeer, passed away October 25, 2013. She was born May 10, 1935, in Flint, MI.
Roberta attended St. Mary's of Mt. Morris through grade eight and was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School. She later attended Flint Junior College and Central Michigan University. Roberta later taught in many school districts but eventually settled at Lapeer Community Schools and retired after 30 years of teaching sixth grade and music. She was also the vice president of the Teachers Union. During the winter months, Roberta spent her time in Nokomis, FL where she volunteered her time in the Spanish Lakes and was Director of the Kitchen Band.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle (Mike) Mlecsko; sons Michael Wood and Matthew Wood; grandchildren Bryan (fiancée Mandy) Stonerock, Scott (Emy Oiterong) Stonerock, Tim Stonerock, Steven (Latasha) Wood, Kyle (Laci) Wood, Amanda Klage and Adam Klage; great grandchildren Coulter, Courtlyn, Courez, Jaxson and Wyatt Wood; sister-in-law Catherine Connolly; nieces Kim (Wes) Key, Laurie (Jeff) Miller; nephew Scott (Amy) Connolly.
Preceded in death by beloved husband Richard Wood; parents Joseph and Evelyn Connolly; daughter Maureen Wood Klage and brother Dennis Connolly.
Friends may visit on Sunday, October 27, 2013, from 1-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary Service at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Capstick Chapel. A Funeral Mass will take place Monday, October 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. from St. Louise Chapel with Fr. Douglas Terrien officiating. Burial at Mt. Loretto Cemetery
