Tracey Dee Davis was born May 27, 1964 in Bellflower, California. She was the third born of Fred and Carol Arpy. Tracey attended Lincoln High School in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated in 1982. From her early childhood Tracey gave her life to Jesus. It was from this relationship that Tracey poured out her life to others.
On October 19, 1985, Tracey was united in marriage to Tom Davis. From this union were born three children whom she loved with all her life.
Tracey and her family moved to Jefferson in 1995. Tracey continued to raise her children and affect the lives of many other children in Greene County. She did this through her nursery ministry at Abundant Life Ministries Church, reaching out with the love of Jesus with her soft, smile face to little ones for nearly 12 years.
In 2007, Tracey was placed in her life's passion to work with young adults and their families as a Family Support Worker for the H.O.P.E.S. program at Greene County Medical Center Public Health, bringing patient and loving guidance to every household she served.
Tracey will be remembered for her unselfish, giving nature (cookies from the heart for all her friends and loved ones), her special housecleaning abilities, her humble attitude, her constant happy spirit, and her undying faith to believe the best about us all, regardless of who we are or where we came from, just as she knew her Lord to be. She was a reflection of Him.
Tracey passed away at her home and was promoted to heaven on August 22, 2009. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Don and Virginia Frank and George Fred and Blanche (Bobby) Arpy.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; her daughter, Erica Smith (Jason); and her sons, Chad and Tony all of Jefferson; her parents, Fred and Carol Arpy of Des Moines; sisters, Leanne Meyers (Ty) of Des Moines and Kris Benson (Mike) of Jefferson; brother, Brian Arpy (Amy) of Altoona; many nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins; and multitudes of friends and loved ones. She will be deeply missed. The family requests that memorials be sent to the H.O.P.E.S program at GCMC Public Health.
