Guy H. Ice Jr., 75, of Carolina, died Sunday, Dec. 2, in Fairmont General Hospital. He was born July 7, 1926, in Idamay, son of the late Guy H. Sr. and Nettie Ice. He was a retired coal miner from Bethlehem Steel Corp. He worked from 1947-1982 in the mines at Carolina, Four States, Idamay, and Barrackville, retiring as an outside electrician. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He was Methodist. He graduated in 1944 from Farmington High School. He was a member of the VFW Post 629, of Fairmont. He served on the Carolina Community Improvement Association Board, and the Ice Cemetery Board of Directors, in Barrackville. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irene Yuhas Ice, of Carolina, whom he married on Sept. 10, 1950; a daughter and spouse, Trudy and Terry Lemley, of Carolina; three sons and spouses, Guy Thomas and Kim Ice, Terry and Lori Ice, and Todd and Tamara Ice, all of Carolina; a sister, Wilda Kelly, of Shinnston; a sister-in-law, Clara Knicely, of Idamay; six grandchildren, Trini, Lori, and Terri Beth Lemley, Jay Ice, James Fisher, and Cody Ice, all of Carolina; three nieces, Belva Ann Brown, of Bridgeport, Renae Ashcraft, of Reading, Pa., and Tina Malcomb, of Idamay; and a nephew, Andy Dudash, of Shinnston. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Ice. Friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, from 1-9 p.m., Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, until the 2 p.m. service, with the Rev. Ralph Wycoff officiating. Burial will be at the Ice-Lemley Cemetery, in Carolina.
