Dan Miles Parker, age 73, of Escanaba passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba following a lengthy illness.

Dan was born August 6, 1940 in Dunn County, Wisconsin, the son of LuVern and Sybel (King) Parker. He was united in marriage to Ann Cass on October 18, 1962. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2010. Dan was a proud veteran of the military, serving his country for six years in the U.S. Army and fourteen years in the U.S. Air Force. He also worked for the Civil Service for ten years. On May 12, 2012 he married Deborah "Debbie" Constantineau. He attended the Grace Church in Gladstone and was a very talented songwriter, poet and author. He also enjoyed building things, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Parker of Escanaba; sons, Jerry (Beth) Parker of Westfield, IN, Cameron (Lisa) Parker of Gladstone, MI, Scott Larson of Green Bay, WI and Brian Larson of Morresville, NC; daughters, LaVonne (Wayne) Corwin of Gladstone, MI, Sonja (Dale)Thompson of Dorchester, SC and Christine Heiting of Gladstone, MI; 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Laraine Clinger of Ocala, FL, Mary Green of Arkansas, Patricia Barnes of Bradenton, FL, Barbara (Gary) Thompson of Camron, WI, and Jenny (Ronald) Paulson of Boyceville, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Ann, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and LuVern Parker.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26 from 1:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Military Honors will be presented at 3:45 PM by the Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post 71. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. A luncheon will be served following services at the Grace Church in Gladstone. Dan will be laid to rest in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choosing.
