Sally A. Billings passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Sally was born on August 4, 1945 in New Milford. CT to Clifford and Ethel Allen of Bridgewater, CT. She graduated from New Milford High School and later from Western Connecticut State College with a Masters Degree in Education. Sally taught kindergarten for 34 and1/2 years in the New Milford Public School system. Following her retirement in 2005, Sally and her husband enjoyed driving to 49 out of 50 of the United States. When not traveling, Sally became an accomplished quilter, and passionate volunteer at The Thrift Shop of New Milford. Survivors Include her husband Donald Billings of New Milford, daughter Suzanne Miller and her husband Eric of Concord NC, and grandsons Cameron, Logan, and Jason.. Also, her siblings, brother Clifford A. Allen of Bridgewater, CT, sister Shirley Benjamin and her husband Edgar of Charlestown, NH, brother-in-law Paul Billings and his wile Peggy of Danbury, CT, brother-in-law Richard Zeitler and his wife Elaine of Brookfield, CT, sister-in-law Sylvia Billings of Danbury, CT, as well as many nieces and nephews
A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10 AM. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
Friends may call at the Lillis Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29, from 7 to 9 PM.
