"Joseph A. Ferkinhoff, 86, Oldenburg, Ind., died late Wednesday evening, May 27, 1992 in the IOOF Home, Greensburg.

"He was born Dec. 19, 1905 in Oldenburg, Ind., the son of John and Magdalena Reidaman Ferkinhoff. He belonged to the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of St. John in Oldenburg, Ind. He was a retired employee of Hill-Rom Co., Batesville, Ind., and a former member of the Eagle Fire Department in Oldenburg and a former Oldenburg town marshall.

"He married Seraphine Schulte on Oct. 9, 1930 in the St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, Ind., and she preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 1950.

"He is survived by three sons, Daniel and Clifford Ferkinhoff, Batesville, Ind., and Marvin Ferkinhoff, Brookville, Ind.; three daughters, Mary Katherine Tekulve, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. James (Joellen) Dietz, Batesville, Ind., and Mrs. Robert (Donna) Schutte, Oldenburg, Ind.; one brother, Ralph Ferkinhoff, Oldenburg; two sisters, Eulalia Kirschner, and Felicia Firsich, both of Batesville, Ind.; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

"He was preceded in death by one grandson, William Tekulve; two brothers, William and Ed Ferkinhoff and three sisters, Martha Ferkinhoff, Theresa Weintraut and Genevieve Lamping.

"Father Sylvester Heppner, OFM, will conduct the mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg, Ind.

"Visitation is at the Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville, Ind., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

"There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

"Memorial contributions may go to the Eagle Fire Department, Oldenburg, Ind.
