Darlene Welch Willis, 80, entered into eternal rest at her home on Wed. Oct. 23. She was a native of Jessamine County born Nov 7, 1932, to the late Thomas R. "TR" and Alene Comley Welch. She was the loving wife of Denton Willis for 60 years and retired employee of the Jessamine County Board of Education where she worked has a bus monitor. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. Darlene loved cooking big meals for her family for all their special occasion. She leaves to cherish her memory sons Dwight Willis, wife Jo, Tommy Willis and Regina Tanner, daughter Kathy Cobb, grandchildren Whitney Cobb, Tyler Dicken, husband Josh, Amy Willis, Tucker Willis, wife Ashley and Blaine Willis, great grandchildren Hunter Loss, McKenzie and Madison Long, Grant and Griffin Dicken, brother Tommy Welch, wife Teresa, sister Mattie Jane Stinnett, and her special friends Bebe Collins and Dottie Bruner. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Monday, Oct. 28, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Wally Rendell officiating. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery.
