Crystal Evetta Green

Crystal Evetta Green received her reward of eternal rest on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.

She was born May 2, 1954, to Pastor Henry Franklin, Jr. and Dorothy Wright Franklin. Crystal was a 1973 graduate of La Marque High School. She was previously employed with Dickinson ISD and Seabreeze Nursing Home in Texas City. Crystal accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized while attending St. Mark’s Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Canary Hudson. Later she went on to join Straightway Baptist Church under the leadership of her father, the late Rev. Henry Franklin, Jr. While continuing her Christian journey, she joined Jesus Is Lord Word of Truth Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Virginia Wright, and Overseer Apostle D. Jerome Kidd.

Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel Green; her parents, Rev. Henry Franklin Jr. and Dorothy Wright Franklin; sisters, Harriet Louise Franklin and Barbara Curtis; and brother, Henry Franklin, III.

Her life’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, sons Mathan Scott-Franklin (Roxanne) and Malcolm Green (Ashley); daughter De’Vann Sennette-Green; grandson Mathan Franklin, Jr.; sisters Irish Cobbs (Thad), Mary Franklin Griffin (Tyrone), Eartha Henson; brothers Tara D. Franklin (Emily) all of Texas City and Barry Franklin (Lora Ann) of Hitchcock; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Straightway Missionary Baptist Church, 21 Highway 3 North in Texas City with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and Home Going Celebration beginning at 1:00 p.m., the Rev. John West, pastor and Apostle D. Jerome Kidd, eulogist. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock under the direction of Mainland Funeral Home of La Marque.
