Nettie M. Wallace, 83, of Pinewood died Monday, July 13, 1998, at North Country Regional Hospital. Funeral services were at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home. Interment was in Pinewood-Dodge Cemetery in Pinewood.

She was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Aitkin, the daughter of Stephen and Nettie May (Porter) Yoemans. She grew up and attended school in Aitkin. On Feb. 17, 1933, she married Earl R. Wallace in Aitkin. They moved to Bemidji for a short time before moving to the Solway area. They lived in the Bear Den area until 1941 when they moved to Pinewood where she had lived since. She worked for Bi-CAP in Bemidji for many years. She was a member of the Pinewood Homemaker Club and a past Pinewood Homemaker Club and a past Pinewood School Board member. She loved to garden, read and crochet. She enjoyed the out-of-doors, nature and picking berries.

Survivors include sons, John Wallace of Seattle, Wash.; Frank (Rita) Wallace of Pinewood, Richard Wallace of Pinewood, Mike Wallace of Pinewood; daughters, Dexie H. (George) Smith of Bemidji, Judith (Daryl "Bucky") Hinrichs of Shevlin; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Pat) Yoemans of Pinewood, Robert (Debbie) Yoemans of Verndale; sister-in-law, Bertha Yoemans of State Center, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 24, 1980; three sistes; six brothers.
