ROCKWELL, Miriam (Flenner), 90, of West Hartford, died Tuesday (June 7) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Tyrone, PA, she had lived in the Hartford area most of her life, having moved to West Hartford in 1944. She was a member of St. Paul's Silent Mission Church of West Hartford, a member of Gallaudet College Alumni Association, a member of the Elmwood Senior Citizens Center, and a benefactor of the American School for the Deaf of West Hartford. She is survived by her husband, Walter C. Rockwell; a son and daughter-in-law, W. Gordon and Virgina Rockwell of East Sandwich, MA; two daughters and sons-in-law; Elizabeth and John Allen of West Hartford, Carolyn and Jeremy S. Jones of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, J. Rockwell Allen, Christine Aronson, Virginia Orscher, Wendy Hall, Amy Hadden, Kenneth Jones and Bradford Jones; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be in St. Johns Epispocal Church chapel, West Hartford, June 29, 11 a.m. There are no calling hours. Burial will be a the convience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallaudet University Memorial and Honor Program, 800 Florida Ave. N.E., Washington, DC 20002.
