John is survived by his wife, Emiko, sons John B. Abbott Jr. and his wife, Patricia and Douglas Abbott, daughters, Susan Heuer and her husband, Rod, Patricia Anez and her husband, Terry and Peggy Abbott, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
John retired from the United States Army as Sergeant First Class and proudly served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. John received the Good Conduct Medal (6th Award) and 2 Letters of Appreciation. John was also retired from Civil Service.
John will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
John was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
