Son of Ralph and Eleanor (Lyn) Ellenwood. He married Martha Rowlandson on August 20, 1691 in Marblehead.
To this union seven children were born Returne, Ralph, Abigail, Ebenezer, Martha, Thomas and Esther.

After Martha's death he married Sarah Woodbury on February 3, 1712 in Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts.
To this union eight children were born Sarah, Israel, Ralph, Ephraim, Ichabod, Esther, Daniel and Abiel.

It appears the Ralph Ellingwood (Ellenwood) who married Sarah Woodbury is the son of Ralph Ellingwood and Martha Rowlandson. The elder Ralph's will dated 8 April 1741 mentions his deceased son Ralph, his other children with Martha Rowlandson, and his grandsons Israel and Ralph Ellingwood. His son, Ralph Ellingwood, III, (18 Apr 1694 - Jan 1729) married to Sarah Woodbury (14 Dec 1690-22 Jun 1776). They married on 03 Feb 1712 in Beverly, MA, and had 8 children. As another contributor already noted. Please remove the erroneous note from this man. Also, two of the children on this site shown as his (Israel and Esther), were actually the children of his son, Ralph the younger, and Ralph's wife, Sarah. I have the death notice of Ralph, the son, who died at sea in January of 1728/29. His father outlived him. The article is in the New England Weekly Journal of 13 Jan 1728/29 and includes the fact that Ralph, the younger, was lost at sea returning from Jamaica.
